No Stairway, Channelling Led ZEppelin

No Stairway, Led Zeppelin tribute band.

No Stairway, a Galway based Led Zeppelin tribute band, took to the stage in their first visit to Athlone’s live band venue, aptly named The Venue.

You’re f*@kin’ deadly!

No Stairway’s frontman, Steven Sharp’s powerful vocals cut through the air and filled the awaiting ears of the crowd that had gathered to witness the reincarnation of Zep.

Ronan on guitar seemed to make his fingers move independently from his body, channelling Page. In a night of firsts, he used a theremin during “Whole Lotta Love” and it was epic. Shane, on bass and keyboard, filled out the sound and added body to the tunes. John Tierney provided the beating heart to thump the chests of the ever increasing crowd.

People in the crowd could be heard shouting “you’re f*@king deadly”. There was a mix of both young and old, some of which had seen the original Led Zeppelin.

No Stairway may not be Led Zeppelin themselves, but they are dedicated torchbearers of the band's legacy.
